COAT-OF-ARMS
(INTERPRETATION OF THE SYMBOLS)

THE MOUNT represents Mount Carmel in which our congregation takes its roots and speaks to us of our call to prayer and contemplation.

THE CROSS is a reminder that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are ready for sacrifice in imitation of Our Lord Jesus Christ who laid down His life for love of us.

THE STARS signify the Greek and Latin eras through which the Order of Carmel survived. They also stand for Prophets Elijah and Elisha, St. Teresa and St. John of the Cross. The stars recall to our mind the ardent wish of Mother Veronica, our Foundress that every Apostolic Carmelite shine out as a star in the Church through fervour and regularity.

THE DOUBLE - FLAMED LAMP speaks of simplicity (single-mindedness in seeking God) and zeal which together with union with God form the spirit of our congregation. The lamp also symbolizes our call to communicate the light of Truth and this specially, with regard to our charism - the experience of God's All - Sufficing Love through the witness of life, the proclamation of the Word and the ministry of prayer, education and other apostolic works.

THE LILY represents our call to practise purity in thought, word and deed.

THE PALM tells us of the victory assured by God to those who conquer self out of love for Him.

THE STAR-STUDDED CROWN is symbolic of Mary, Queen and Beauty of Carmel.

"SOLUS DEUS SUFFICIT" meaning "God Alone Suffices" is our motto.
